Substance Use, Self-harm, And Managing Intense Feelings
ADULT WOMEN WHO SELF-HARM
Hello! My name is Catherine Radosevich. I am interested in the experiences of women who are recovering from substance use disorders. One thing that I have noticed over the years is that some woman who have never self-harmed previously began doing so while in a substance use recovery program. Self-harm may include self-cutting, burning, hitting, scalding, biting, scratching, etc. I am curious about why I am observing this trend. I would to hear from women who have had similar experiences related to substance use recovery and self-harm.
I have an online survey that asks questions related to these experiences. The online survey takes approximately 30 minutes. You are allowed to start the survey, stop, and return to it later if need be. It includes a series of questions related to your substance use treatment as well as how and when you first chose to self-harm. The survey is located at the following link:
To participate in this study, ALL must apply to you:
- Be female
- Be over the age of 21
- Be in partial or full remission from substance use
- Have participated in an in-patient or intensive out-patient treatment for substance use.
- Have completed a self-harming behavior during or after treatment for substance use.
