Dear Veteran,

You have been selected as a research participant through www.findparticipants.com because you are 18 years old or older.  You are or were a member of the U.S. Armed Forces.  You may have served in Iraq or Afghanistan within the last 2 years.  This is a dissertation study about how veterans cope with their combat experience.  Sometimes we make meaning of our experience.  This meaning can be a positive outcome from our stressful experience.  We may be able to achieve growth after trauma on how we cope with stress.

You are invited to participate by answering some basic questions about yourself.  This will take about two minutes to complete.  After that, you will be asked to answer a series of questions that will take about 25 minutes to complete.  You can access the dissertation study from your smart phone, tablet, and laptop or desktop computer.

This study is low risk.  However, you may experience some discomfort due to your stressful experience.  Please know you can stop at any time.  You can choose not to answer questions. You can skip questions.  A list of helpful websites and telephone numbers will be available throughout the survey. You can click on a link should discomfort arise.
