Female Sexual Orientation Research Study 2

Dr. Alan Sanders and his team at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) are searching for genes that influence female sexual orientation.

Our study will look for genes that may influence some women in ways that they become lesbian, bisexual, straight, queer, etc. Sexual orientation is a fundamental trait of great scientific interest. Understanding the origins of sexual orientation will enable us to learn a great deal about sexual motivation, sexual identity, gender identity and sex differences. Our primary goals are scientific, but we also are hopeful for greater societal understanding.

To assist us in our research, we are seeking participants who are:

-cisgender (i.e., women assigned at birth as female)
-women (at least 18 years old)
-regardless of sexual orientation (e.g., lesbian, bisexual, straight)

Participants are asked to answer a 20-30 minute questionnaire and to provide a DNA sample (saliva),which we will postal mail to you after completing the questionnaire.
