Interviews For Educational Experiences Study

My name is Helena Pike Welch, and I am a doctoral candidate at Capella University conducting a research study for my dissertation on the educational experiences of academic success of children of incarcerated parents.

The criteria for the study includes both men and women, ages 18-50 who:

• Are a high school graduate
• Had a parent who was incarcerated some time during grades K-12 (length of incarceration is not important)
• Are able to tell the researcher about your educational experience during the time your parent was incarcerated
• Are able to give the researcher an estimate of your high school GPA
• Had an estimated high school GPA of 3.0 or higher

If you fit these criteria, your participation is requested to learn more about your educational success while having a parent that was incarcerated.

I will conduct face-to-face, audio recorded interviews via FreeConferenceCall.com, Skype, or Google Hangouts, unless you prefer to be interviewed by telephone. The interviews are not expected to last more than 30 to 60 minutes, and there are a few short demographics questions that you must be willing to answer (ie., age, gender, estimated GPA, etc.).
